No, you haven’t clicked on a misplaced link. You see, I’m not sure who started this, but I did a list like this in 2019 which was called “Life According to Literature” with different prompts. These were done by Brona’s Books, ANZ LitLovers LitBlog, and Veronica @ The Burgeoning Book Shelf. I understand that Veronica originally found it on Theresa Smith Writes and Claire’s Reads and Reviews!
Then, in 2020 I noticed that Annabookbel did a “My Life in Books” tag for 2019, and and it had different prompts. Of the many bloggers I’ve seen do this one, they’ve seemed to move over to the new title, using those prompts (with one or two adjustments to reflect the past year).
Well, wherever this came from, I did one for the 2020 books I read and reviewed, using 2019’s questions PLUS Annabel’s (even though I recall it was harder than I thought it would be). Obviously, I did a similar one with my 2021 books, and now it is well past time to do one with the books I read in 2022 (sorry this is so late. I’ll try to do better for 2023)!
THE RULES: Using only books you have read during the last year (2022), answer these questions. Try not to repeat a book title. These answers don’t have to be true, but they just need to make (some kind of) sense! You’ll find links to my reviews in my answers!
The most recent prompts are:
- In high school I was: The Color of Ice (Barbara Linn Probst)
- People might be surprised by: Her Hidden Genius (Marie Benedict)
- I will never be: The Fair Miss Fortune (D.E. Stevenson)
- My life post-lockdown was: For Those Who Are Lost (Julia Bryan Thomas)
- My fantasy job is: Standing in the Rainbow (Fannie Flagg)
- At the end of a long day, I need: The Next Ship Home (Heather Webb)
- I hate being: The Seamstress of New Orleans (Diane C. McPhail)
- Wish I had: Giovanni’s Room (James Baldwin)
- My family reunions are: A Botanist’s Guide to Parties and Poisons (Kate Khavari)
- At a party you’d find me: Marrying the Ketchups (Jennifer Close)
- I’ve never been to: The Golden Oldies’ Book Club (Judy Leigh)
- A happy day includes: Mother’s Boy (Patrick Gale)
- Motto I live by is: By Her Own Design (Piper Hugely)
- On my bucket list is: Delphi (Clare Pollard)
- In my next life, I want: Good Bones (Margaret Atwood)
well done, I didn’t realize there were some more recent prompts.
Here is my post, a colelction of those:

I borrowed Annabel’s prompts too! It was my first time doing this meme and I was surprised how easily I could find books to fit. You had fun answers too.
