The question this time is the Book Blogger Hop topic for December 16-22 submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer, which is:
Are you a morning, afternoon, or nighttime reader?
Disclaimer:
These are my personal opinions. I do not expect anyone to agree with anything here, and in fact, I’m certain that many will disagree and/or even hate many of the things I’ve written below. Sorry about that, but you are always welcome to express your own opinions – be they contrary or comparable – in the comments section. So, with that out of the way… let the controversy begin!
What made me think about this topic?
As noted above, this is a Book Blogger Hop topic, and it was an original one! I mean, no one has ever asked me WHEN I like to read, just why, who, where, and what! Finally, a chance to answer the last W of the list.
My Thoughts…
The short answer is:
Y E S !!!
Now, the long answer:
I always read two books at a time. One on my Kindle, and one in print. Generally, that means that throughout the day I’ll be reading my Kindle book – either at home or whenever I go somewhere that I know I’ll have to wait for something, like an appointment. I’ll also take my Kindle with me when I know I’m going to be eating out on my own – just to keep myself company!
Now, I naturally have a hard time falling asleep. I’ve been told that reading backlit devices or looking at electronic screens can impair your ability to nod off. That’s why I don’t have a TV in my bedroom, and why I put my phone in the kitchen or my office, and never next to my bed. I also heard that reading before going to sleep can help your brain turn off of the daily pressures of life, and help you fall asleep faster. So, as soon as I get into my bed, I pick up my print book and read at least 20 pages. Most of the time, that means I have to keep myself awake to finish my allotted pages, but that’s fine with me. That said, there are a few authors who I’ve read where I had a hard time closing the book, even as my eyelids grew heavy (first, and foremost, I’m talking about YOU, Rachel Joyce. But there are others, I can assure you)!
So, when you ask me my favorite time of the day for reading, my answer has to be – all day, any time of the day, day or night (well, except when I’m sleeping)!
morning, mid-afternoon, and early evening reader…when I am not moving about doing things around the house; keeping house is work as well.

I’m so lazy… I let the house keep itself!

I read more towards the end of the day. I’m a morning person so like to get on with things early. But if I have a really good book, I might read it late morning if I get a free moment.

To pick up an actual book or my Kindle it is usually evening. Mostly now I listen to books–on my drive to/fro work and at lunch time since I eat in my car like most of my co-workers. (There is nowhere else unless you want to stay in the office and eat in the tiny kitchen).

I used to eat at my desk at work, but sometimes we’d sit down in the conference room.

Same! 🙌💯Any time of day is my fav time to read! Although….reading at night keeps me awake and I find myself reading into the 3-4 am hours! Listening to an audio book will lull me to sleep no matter what time of day I’m listening.
