A special Throwback Thursday for Thanksgiving? Why not?
Well, happy Thanksgiving for all who celebrate it (I don’t anymore, because I no longer live in the US, but it was a holiday I loved, growing up). Now, as my regular readers know, I don’t usually post in the middle of the month, and I just let this link party go until the next one. But… today is a bit special and… I have a VERY appropriate book!
So… with no further ado, I give you…
The Chocolate Lady’s Special Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday Book Review, called:
One Family, One Holiday, Many Generations of Women.
My Book Review for “Thanksgiving” by Ellen Cooney.
My review starts thusly:
“Patience was a newlywed, pregnant with her first child on that cold November morning of 1662. When she went outside in search of her husband, she saw a turkey fly into the oak tree in her yard. The fateful killing of that bird ended up being something to be truly thankful for. It also was where the legend of the Morley family of Massachusetts began. This novel follows the Morley women over 350 years, using their ancestral home and the food they prepared for this holiday as the focal points. …”
Too obvious? Maybe! But you must admit, it is perfect for both this link party and the holiday, right?
