Topic for the week of June 26 – July 2:
When you run out of bookshelf space, what do you do? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews).

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, I (Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer) relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
Book Blogger Hop topic for the week of June 26 – July 2:
When you run out of bookshelf space, what do you do? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)!
Okay so… Today is my birthday…
Therefore, instead of a book review… first, enjoy a piece of chocolate cake! (Because you KNOW I’ll be having some. By the way, in case you were wondering… 63!)

Now… to answer the question:
When I run out of bookshelf space, I do any or all of the following:
- I keep stuffing them in willy-nilly, double or triple depth, and shoved in on top of the ones lined up on the shelves, or…
- Push the overflow of books into places where they don’t belong, into any nook or cranny that I can find, or…
- Go through my books and throw out the ones I didn’t like at all (hardly any of those), and then take the ones I liked but can live without and give them to the nearest old age home or hospital library!
And now… have some more chocolate cake!
And… that’s it!
Thanks again to Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer for this blog hop, and Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews for this topic!
Happy birthday, Davida. Hope you’re having a wonderful day.
The problem of limited bookshelf space hasn’t been a problem since swapping to Kindle. 😉

Hope you had a lovely day – my birthday was the 24th and I too had chocolate cake! When I had paperbacks I couldn’t live without any of them, now I read e-books I find it much easier to delete and discard them. Mind you that could be because I know they are still out there in the cloud 😂

Happy Birthday!!!! Haha… I do the same. I just start stacking them anywhere I can. It’s such a mess right now because I’ve purchased so many during quarantine!

Well we are moving house by the end of the year, so we will be giving away some of our books soon.

We are planning to move next spring. So I’ve been reading 90% of my own books to weed them out too! Good luck with the move!!

Happy birthday to you! Hope you have a good day. We cut back our bookcases so I can’t keep as many books as I used to. While the charity shops have been closed, I’ve had a box of books outside my house for people to help themselves.

Happy birthday! Thank you for the chocolate cake 😜. I do basically the same but since I mostly read eBooks it hasn’t been an issue in a very long time. Enjoy your day!

Thanks. Yes, eBooks are keeping the shelves from getting too crammed.
