TCL’s Top Ten Tuesday for March 3, 2020.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

ttt-big2Books with Single Word Titles!

(Topic by Kitty from Kitty Marie’s Reading Corner)

When I saw this topic I was sure that I hadn’t reviewed as many as 10 books with single word titles. However, it turns out, that I’ve actually read and reviewed quite a few of these, and that doesn’t include any books that have “The” or “A” before the single word. Unfortunately, only nine of them got a full five stars from me.

Five Star Rated Books with One Word Titles
(in alphabetical order):

  1. Adore by Doris Lessing
  2. Beartown by Fredrik Backman
  3. Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
  4. Perfect by Rachel Joyce
  5. Restless by William Boyd
  6. Shtum by Jem Lester
  7. Visitation by Jenny Erpenbeck
  8. Vox by Christina Dalcher
  9. Warlight by Michael Ondaatje

But to round it out to 10, I give you another one word titled book that came very, very close to getting 5/5 stars:

10. Thanksgiving by Ellen Cooney

What books with one word titles did you read and love?

  1. Middlesex has been a book I’ve seen quite a few times today (on your blog but also on Facebook and Twitter mentions) so I’m really taking this as a sign that I should read it soon 😜 I also really need to finally read Beartown! Great list 🙂
