Books with Single Word Titles!
(Topic by Kitty from Kitty Marie’s Reading Corner)
When I saw this topic I was sure that I hadn’t reviewed as many as 10 books with single word titles. However, it turns out, that I’ve actually read and reviewed quite a few of these, and that doesn’t include any books that have “The” or “A” before the single word. Unfortunately, only nine of them got a full five stars from me.
Five Star Rated Books with One Word Titles
(in alphabetical order):
- Adore by Doris Lessing
- Beartown by Fredrik Backman
- Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
- Perfect by Rachel Joyce
- Restless by William Boyd
- Shtum by Jem Lester
- Visitation by Jenny Erpenbeck
- Vox by Christina Dalcher
- Warlight by Michael Ondaatje
But to round it out to 10, I give you another one word titled book that came very, very close to getting 5/5 stars:
10. Thanksgiving by Ellen Cooney
Need to read Beartown.

I read The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing last year and really enjoyed it, Adore sounds equally interesting.

It was made into a movie – not a bad adaptation, to be honest. But of course, the book is better!

Middlesex has been a book I’ve seen quite a few times today (on your blog but also on Facebook and Twitter mentions) so I’m really taking this as a sign that I should read it soon 😜 I also really need to finally read Beartown! Great list 🙂
