As you already know from my post last week (where you’ll find the concept and the topics), I invented a new meme to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah with all of my book blogging friends, of all races, creeds, religions, genders, and whatever. I’m calling it…
The Chocolate Lady’s
Eight Candle Book Tag Link Party!
This post is being published just as Jews in Israel light the third candle for the third day of Hanukkah. I have chosen one book for each night on bookish topics (the topics and rules can be found on this post, here). Also, you will find my Link Party at the bottom of each of these posts so anyone who wants to can join in the fun.
Remember, you don’t have to be Jewish to participate!
Here is my choice for:
🕯️🕯️🕯️Third Candle
Trifecta:
A book where there is either a love (or hate) triangle, or with three different points of view, or something else related to the number three.
For this one, I think one I’ll go with a book written by three authors, the group known as “Team W” who are Beatriz Williams, Lauren Willig, and Karen White, who wrote the book “The Glass Ocean,” which is a novel about the sinking of the Lusitania! Well, it is less about the incident, and more about three women who were on the ship and survived. They’ve got another book coming out in January, and because I enjoyed this one so much, I’ve requested and received approval for the ARC of that one (“All the Ways we Said Goodbye”). I can hardly wait! These women are a fantastic team.
I pick a book written by my friend, Anneli Purchase, “Julia’s Violinist.” Julia loses her husband, but survives WWII with her children and remarries. Her second marriage is not a happy one and when an old boy friend offers to bring the whole family to Canada, she accepts. It is in her new life that she finds herself in the proverbial triangle, for she finds it impossible to resist the lure of her old love. Beautifully written, full of passion, heartbreak, and love.

I don’t think I’ve ever come across a book written by three authors. Hope this is a good one and happy holidays!
